What do I need to do to get to heaven?

To invite Jesus into your heart and be saved, follow these steps:

  1. Recognize Your Need for Jesus: Understand that you are a sinner in need of a Savior. Acknowledge your shortcomings and the separation between you and God.
  2. Repent of Your Sins: Be willing to change your mind and turn away from sinful behavior. Repentance involves a genuine desire to live differently.
  3. Confess with Your Mouth: Declare your faith in Jesus Christ. Believe that He died on the cross for your sins and was raised from the dead. Confess Him as Lord.
  4. Believe in Your Heart: Trust in Jesus’ sacrifice and resurrection. Embrace Him as your personal Savior.
  5. Surrender Your Life to Jesus: Yield your entire life to Him. Commit to following Jesus alone, not any other religious figure or institution.
  6. Pray to Invite Jesus into Your Heart: Humbly and wholeheartedly pray: “Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Please forgive me. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and my life to You. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. I surrender my whole life to You, and I will follow You only for the rest of my days. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
